Recipe of Kandha Poha/ Poha

Poha

Poha: Poha or Flattened Rice is an Indian dish, usually eaten at breakfast.

Ingredients:

  1. Poha – 200 gms
  2. Onions Chopped – 1
  3. Green Chillies – 1 to 2
  4. Cumin Seeds (Zeera) – 1/2 tbsp
  5. Roasted Groundnuts – 3 tbsp
  6. Salt – 1 tbsp
  7. Sugar – 1/4 tbsp
  8. Haldi(Turmeric) Powder – 1/2 tbsp
  9. Lemon – 1/2 tbps

Pre-Preparations:

  • Wash Poha twice in running water and drain all the excess water, as in yum_1 and yum_2

  • To the soaked Poha, add salt, sugar, lemon juice and haldi, as in yum_3, yum_4, yum_5, yum_6 and finally yum_7

  • Mix all the spices after 30 seconds and soak it for 2-3 minutes, as in yum_8

Get Started for the Recipe:

  • Heat 1.5 tbsp oil in a pan on high flame, add cumin seeds to it after 30 seconds, as in yum_9

  • Let the cumin splutter, add chopped onion, chopped green chillies and sauté for 45 seconds on high flame, as in yum_10.

  • Add roasted groundnuts in the pan and sauté for another 30 seconds on high flame, as in yum_11

  • Now add the soaked Poha to pan, as in yum_12

  • Mix well with spatula and let it cook for 30 seconds, as in yum _13

  • Now cover the pan and cook for another 30 seconds, as in yum_14

  • Switch off the flame and let the Poha get steamed for 30 seconds, as in yum_15
